Back from Vegas

Well well well!  I am off line for just a couple weeks and all the changes! Well I am looking forward to checking it all out. Well I am so behind on everything! Just got back from my Vegas - friends wedding! Had fun lost just $40.00 so not to bad I havn’t weighed my self and won’t this week but will next. I have been consuming to many carbs lately. I know I have to get back on track so will start again logging my food and calories. Starting tomorrow. I am very tired today and cold! We are having a nasty cold snap. Very unusual for us to have it sooooo cold in Nov. Well in Vegas I did not to bad with food. 2 times we hit the buffet but I did pass on the carbs and ate more veg & protiens. My little black dress fit great and I felt good in it. We walked alot also. Well I have missed the contact with all of you and I will try to check in and catch up. 

The Job

Well all my dear buddies….Thatsrnright baby!!!! I got the job! I am so so so excited! I start next Tues!rn2 weeks of training! They called today @ 1:45 pm and asked if I couldrncome down to go  over the contract letter. I signed it and I amrnin! They are all so nice @ the bank so I am very excited. So tomorrow Irnam going to get another pair of pants and shirt. I don’t want to buy tornmany pants yet as I know these will soon not fit  I have such a head ache tonight from all the thinking I  did today (how many calories do you think you burn over thinking)rnWell I had a pretty good meal day today - but it started off a bitrngreasy, I went to A&W for breakfast -2fried eggs & bacon andrn1.5 pieces of toast & coffee. I was having a private pitty party asrnI had really thought the job was a no go - so I had my greasy amrnbreakfast and read the job classified adds. Well I was glad the pittyrnparty only lasted 1/2 the day and things turned out wonderful. I wentrnfor a walk after my job appointment - 5200 steps - which really helpedrnreleaved my stress.
rnOk am I the biggest looser or what ? Would you believe what I said whenrnI was introduced to the lady who will be training me? Well they said Irnwill be learning about things like money laundrying etc and I said “Ohrnyou don’t have to worry about me laundrying money as after owning thernmotel for 6 years I did so much laundry I couldn’t be bothered“rnWell they know me and had a good laugh. They are all very friendly andrneasy going there so I know it will be a fun positive enviroment.
rnWell today is my weigh in day man oh man Yesterday the scale showed merndown 1.8 lbs and today it put my right back @ my regular plateau weightrn- Oh well I will show a stay the same for this week. But I know nextrnweek is my moving on week. New job / new weight.
rnThank you all for your positive support with my job and everything else. Irnwill check in on all of you tomorrow.  We had a visit with ourrnfriend that just passed daughter & son in law tonight - It wasrnlovely - we met them up at the look out up on the mountain road rnand watched the sun set and the moon glow - It was pieceful and endedrnthe evening with some tea. quiet day

Today is a very quiet day that I accomplished very little.rnI took the daughter to school and went for a coffee. (today I switchedrnto milk instead of cream it was good) came home and it was gloomy andrnso was I today. Well I ate healthyrn- and didn’t go to calories crazy drank far to much green tea - so allrnin all it was a success full quite day. Off to read your blogs rnrn

Well after Sat’s burgar binge  I stayed on track rest of the night and @ 6:30pm Sunday all is ok!
I had my good regular
 breakfast:
1/2c cottage cheese & 1/2c apple sauce
1/2c peach ff yogurt & 1/2c fiber one cereal

rnThen out for a bit - didn’t go for my am walk as planed as had to meetrnold friends that I use to work with back in the 80″s BC (beforernchildren) We met @ Tim Hortons Doughnuts! But I am pleased to anouncernthat I only had an extra large coffee with 1 cream. They had muffins Well after my visit I came home for a late lunch. Started my wine kits - did laundry - tidyed up the house, and so on……
Lunch: 
1 - bag of chicken = 150grams
2 - bags of whole wheat pasta = 2cups (should of just had 1c eyes bigger than stomach)
1/2 cup of Alfredo sauce. = 160 calories (should of gone for the tomato sauce)
Dinner:
27 - baked tostedo chips = 200 cals
grated cheese melted = 80 grams  (should of just had my regular 50g.)
salsa = 3/4 cups.
Lots of water lots of green tea - I am just over 1400 cals for the daySornI am full and done eatting for the day. I will hop on my gazelle laterrnduring the Canadian Idol final show and then call it a night!  Irnhave more energy today from using  food as fuel for my body andrnnot entertainment.  I have to laugh at everyones comments from myrnblog yesterday! I am sure lucky to have such good buddies on my team torntell me like it is! About not having a blizard also - well believe itrnor not I don’t really like ice cream - I am more of a salty & fatsrncarb girl. But I didn’t have any fries or onion rings so I am veryrnproud of myself for that! Take care buddies and thanks for slapping mernon the hands yesterday I so deserved it with eatting both burgers!

Today I went to Oprah school! Yes I watched the show about 90 days to arnhealthy life. I had seen it before but sometimes you have to repeat arnclass until it sinks in.  Man that  high frutose corn syrup is sure bad stuffrnI never realized that it shuts off that part of the brain that makes usrnnot over eat!(I must of been eatting alot of that!)  No wonder werngo on binges! I will continue to read the whole label on the foods andrnpay attention to thatrningredient. I always watch for Trans fats. Well I was also amazed withrnthe improvement that lady made in 24 weeks. Her skin looked great! Theyrnmentioned due to the water intake - etc. Well today I made clean outrnthe fridge soup No recipe tornfollow just threw in - 1/2 bag of spinach - onion - container ofrnzuchinni, 3 small eggplants, 3 tbsp of garlic - left over tomato paste.rn- rest of the container of yogurt - 3 scoups of lite ricottarncheese.& water = cooked most of the afternoon, then pureed it up inrnthe blender. YUMMMM   Well then when I ate some I added in a tbsprnof my home made  Pesto (basil, sun dried tomatoes, black olivesrn& garlic & olive oil) I tell you all I couldn’t stop eattingrnit! You would think it was laced with that high frutose corn syruprnI have a bit of the sniffles today so soup & garlic is what I wasrncraving.  Well did I stop there? No I used a bag of choppedrnchicken and topped it with the soup mixture like a sauce  andrngarnished with feta cheese. Yummm again. I feel really good even thoughrnI am stuffed! I sure got my veg. in today. Im not sure of the caloriesrnbut I know I did great today. In between all this souping, I nappedrnalot today and took my echinecia.rnI have to nip this cold in the bud! I even turned the heat on in thernhouse. Just in case I get called for an interview next week. rnWell last night after reading Jo’s blog - she mentioned a plan B - Wellrnafter reading that I actually did a plan B (plan A was to go out for myrnwalk but it rained) so I hopped on my exercise gazelle and did 17 minsrnat a very fast pace! Ho….. Hummmm

Well it is fall now (here anyways) the leaves are turningrnand the trees are shedding their leaves. Well last night I almost turned on thernheat. Burrrrr. Rain in the mountain valley town means snow up on top of thernmountains….. Too early for it! Make it go away! Well with this weather change Irndon’t want to walk much. I can’t hike in any mountain trails…. Bears arernfeeding for their winter hibernation.(don’t want to be bear dinner) Hmmm….. IfrnI could just be like the bears and hibernate for the winter and wake uprnthin….Well one can only dream…. Well I guess maybe I should be like a tree! Justrnshake it baby and shed all those unwanted leaves (I mean pounds) But I know howrnI need to do it, just like the trees do get outside and sway back and forthrntill all my excess lbs leave me! Well I know I need a proper rain jacket with arnhood or an unbrella. The rain is here and I know the reason I never go out tornwalk this time of year is that the rainy weather is looming in the distance….rnTeasing me that it could get me any time. I hate to get wet & cold.  I then decide to just use the car. But NO MORErnI am going to start looking for a rain jacket with a proper hood. I use to livernin the Prairies (Saskatchewan) wherernthe weather was often in the winter -30 rnto -40 c. yes!  Believe me thatrnwas cold. I believe -40c is the same as -40F scale. Yup I was one tough prairierngirl! But in the last 7 years living here…. “The warmer side of the Rockies”….rnI have become a whoos. Winter here is only on average -8 . So I have no realrnexcuse.  Well I guess my list of thingsrnto get are…. #1 rain coat, #2 cross country skis, #3 some cheese to go alongrnwith my whining. Yes All, I have accomplished so much this spring & summerrnwith my outdoors adventures, does it have to end here? I say NOT! I mustrncontinue on this path. I can not revert to the loser/quitterrnI was in the past just because of weather change. I have come to far! Irndid turn down a job As an office manager for  a computer maintencerncompany the other day as I would have to drive there (in thernneighbouring town - that I use to live in ) about a 20 min drive. Butrnmy plan sofar is to find a job in our town and walk there. I might berneatting my words in a weeks time but I am going to have faith and gornfor the Gold!  - Hey does anyone know how many calories are in myrnwords just in case I have to record them in my food journal? Ok I guess that is enough sillyness for today have a good one and shake your leaves off today!

Long winded Blog ….

Well I can’t believe I ate the whole thing! 200+  grams of chips!rnNow how is that  any good start to a day? I can feel my face bloatrnup & my feet swell. I am now drinking lots of water!  and tookrnmy fiber pills. I hope this will flush it out! Man what a stupid thingrnto do? next time just because chips are on 3 bags for $6.00 I will sayrnno to hubby. If he wants 1 bag fine but leave me out of this!  sornthe only nutrition I have had today and it is 3:00 is 1/2 c of cottagerncheese. uggggggg. I have stayed away from chips - like for ever! Whatrnwas I thinking ! I know chips are my weakness. Bad Bad me! Well Irnlogged it all in on sparkpeople. and saw the damage I had done 1062rncalories on one stupid binge!  + the cottage cheese and somernunsweetened cranberry juice I am up to 1,213 calories! Hmmm I believernthe rest of my daily calories are going to have to be protien &rnsome spinach!  Ok ok ok, Char calm down…. I am going for a goodrnwalk tonight @ 6:00 with my friend and I will have to kick it up arnnotch! Then tonight I will get on my gazelle and work out- I will do itrnduring Desperate House wives. The day wasn’t a total loss.  I didrnhowever work on my resume. Funny writting  out your good pointonrnpaper seems so odd.  I guess when a person is over weight we tendrnto look at ourselves as a total failure. However writting down myrnsuccesses in business life & volunteering I have done  makesrnme feel good about myself. I think everyone should write a personalrnresume. Like a list of all your good points and then add on to themrneveryday when you think of something new and special aboutrnyourself.  Kind of a Mind / Body / Spirit  list . Here is thernstart of my list: My Mind ( I am very smart with computers, bookrnkeeping & a good multi tasker) My body (is getting healthy andrnleaner) My Soul ( is free and caring). Well I guess even though a dayrncan start out so negative, and not go as planned, we don’t have torncontinue on our collision course. We all have the abillity to stearrnsharply so we don’ t have that head on crash. Have a wonderful end tornthe weekend and remember to fasten your seat belt and stayrnsafe!  

1 hot dog … 2 hot dog… 3 hot dog … 4!

Ok I was to of gone kayaking this am but DH wasn’t feeling ggood. I even got up early & was ready to go! But thats ok I spent my day productivly …. Eatting.rnI started out with 2 poached eggs a piece of cheese and a piese of wasarntoast. Very Good. Then I went out for groceries and got all healthyrnstuff but did pick up a pack of hot dogs (I havn’t had them for a year)rnI did however choose the 35% less fat type - They were the large size =rn100 cals. each. I did however take the whole wheat hotdog bun and slicernit thinly in 1/2 to make 2 buns. (I did this twice) Ok I ate 4 hotdogs I put lite cheese on them & mustard. & hot peppers. But I have to admit I haven’t had a rnout like that in like forever! I know I have TOM coming to visit in thernnext day or so - so I blame him! But again I sat down and logged all myrnfood on sparkpeople.com   At that time of the day I had about 250rncals left for the day. I thought no problem! But then DH told me wernwere going to a friends BBQ. OkrnI get to our friends place - I make good choices 1 buffalo burger- 1rnbullalo smokie - 1/3 cup brown rice - 1/2 cup potatoe salad. - 1 fruit.rnI had no bun! I only drank water  I brought my own water bottle.rnSo to end my day of eatting as exercise! I prob. only went over myrncalories by about 800 cals. I know that might sound like alot but Irnthink yesterday I was under about 900 as the heat realy got to me. Sorntomorrow I am going on a hike early in the day before the heat hits me.rnI will also use my back up menu I made as my guideline for tomorrow. Irnam using it as my life line!rnrn

Magic weight loss?

The big up hill walk yesterday seemed to have hit my lower backrnBut I have just been icining it tonight. Trying to stay away from antirninflam pills. Today went to the local city with youngest daughter forrneye apt. & shopping. Loaded up on healthy vegs -  cheeses -rnfruits & meats. Sooo much cheeper than some of the stuff here! Evenrntook my cooler this time. You know an interesting thing happened @ the check out … All those magazines there, I usually buy one as they all have titles “Loose 10 lbs in 1 day” Loose 30 lbs by Aug.” rnblah blah blah! I would of usually snapped one up to find the magicrncure to weight loss. But You know I don’t need that crap any more! I know what magic things I need to do -

eatting quite healthy.

Well Happy 4th of July to all of you American’srn- We just had a wonderful July 1st holiday also. Today we had arnwonderful sightseeing tour around our area with company - 2 fromrnVancouver, 2 from Saskatoon, 1 from Arizona. So I had to be the tourrndirector to a group of crazy friends & family !rnI made name tags and called it “Stick with the Tour 2006″ It is a bitrnof a joke as 2 of the guys keep wandering off when we go out. Wernstarted out early with a trip to the remote mountain natural hot spring.Thenrnhad a lovely picnic lunch -chicken breast & sald pita’s / withrnfruit salad & water (soooo hot out) Then the “tour” left to FortrnSteel. a heritage fort. lots of walking and lots of photo taking. Onernof the staff there even asked about our name tags and how long we hadrnbeen on tour rnMan I have been doing so much laughing lately I must be burning manyrncalories! We even put on the guys a “If lost please call 1-800-800-0000″rnThe “tour” arrived home to a nice cool Corona Beer and salmon burgers.rnThe company I have had are all into healthy eatting so making myrnchanges and serving my food choices was no problem. We are all learningrnfrom each other. Tomorrow is another picnic after the guys go whiternwater rafting! Hey all it is great to be back. Missed all of you (gotrnthe laptop in my bed room)rnrn
