need more protein

I have been feeling tired lately - more than usual. I now realize after looking @ my food choices I have been toooooo heavy on the carbs. I have to think about lunches… Well I am going to bring a bag of salad to work and a can of salmon. I have found some nice salmon. It is boneless & skinless in the can - kind of like tuna.

So tomorrow for breakfast : 2 eggs, Lunch: can of salmon with salad, Dinner: salad & fish on barbq. I know this will give me the lack of sluggishness I need before the race.

Maybe its me but carbs (the bad ones) make me sooo tired. Well worth the experiment.

Have a good day all!

    Meee TOOO!
Try protien shakes with soy or low-fat milk. They are excellent!

Well before you swear off carbs, you need them for your race. So, AFTER the race you can diminish your consumption, in the meantime, enjoy!

Did I tell you how happy it makes me that you’re blogging again?

I know…they all say carbs are bad - but you do need some for energy. Protein fills you up, and gives you food for your brain, eyes, skin, etc…but carbs give you the energy. Wheat bread with - a “little” peanut butter, low-fat cheese, cottage cheese, Laughing Cow swiss cheese (very good and a fav.) are all good sources of protein and carbs) I also like Melba toast as my carb with the cheeses…what I do for lunch most days. Don’t forget the fruit. Natually high energy source. Good luck. Finding what works for you is an experiment.
