Grad night!

Almost 12:00 midnight and I am about to turn into a pumpknrnMy beautiful little baby girl graduated grade 12 today - It was such arnbeautiful grad dinner. We are so blessed here to have a wonderful skirnresort Panorama Mountain Resort (Interwest) That is where the gradrnwas.I will post some pictures next week. My daughter was the mostrnbeautiful girl there I was veryrnhappy with my meal chicken breast with veg. about a cup of rice (I atern3/4 of it) and ate 1/2 of my bun. desert was 2 small brownies with whiprncream & 1 straw berry. - I just ate 1 piece of brownie &rnstrawberry with a dab of whip cream.- Why do you ask did I not eat everything because it was such a special day? Well - I listened to my stomach and I was full.rnI also was watching the thin lady @ the table take her time and leavernsome food for her husband. I weighed in today and I was @ a stay thernsame! I was some what shocked as I thought I had possible gained - Irnhave not been working out as the heat has been crazy here! I surernadimire all you hot living Buddies. I just am not use to it! I hope tornstart walking lots this weekend as company is coming and we will bernshowing everyone the area. Oh and to top off the crazy busy week myrnfridge died last night! New one should arrive tomorrow - I have 20+rnpeople coming Friday for a grad dinner. But if that is the worst thingrnin my life….. Sunday night -Very late 12:15

Well all another stupid day - We met our Arizona friend for breakfastrnand then we had to go to the high school to steam out 90 grad goundsrn& put the grad stage together! I am soooo excited about all of it.rnI have been watching my food but not walking  However my company is coming on Thursday and I will be walking them around the  area and I will get lots of walking intomorrowrnI am going healthy  food shopping. _ for the week of family foodrnprep. I have made up a menu and I hope that will give us some guidence.Lovernto all of you will check in tomorrow. I plan on keeping my laptop in myrnbedroom so I can keep in touch while company is here!

Late Sat night!

I haven’t been posting since Wed  I weigh in and lost .5 lbs. So still going down hill! Thurdsay was car day - return and get money back on one car- Then go pick up my new car (new to me) Yes I am now a proud owner of a Blue 2002 VW turbo diesel - ar arrrrrrrrrWas a longggggg day 6 hours of just driving! We got home late on thurs night and I tried to post but it disappearedWasrnto tired to repost. Friday was very busy getting car insurance andrncertified car done and getting ready for our garage sale and a visitrnfrom our friend in Arizona.- Sat (today) Garage Sale  & busyrnwith car certification & finalize car plate. Man it is so hot. Irncan not believe that I haven’t even logged my food the last 3 days -rnJust doing it in my head I willrnget somewhat back on track tomorrow - This upcomming week (2)is goingrnto be crazy - daughters grad dinner on Wednesday - Ceremonies onrnFriday. and lots of company for that. My sis & her hubby andrnHubby’s sis & her hubby - also another couple! I guess thats whatrnyou get when you live in a resort community! But I am very excited theyrnwill all be here. All are healthy eaters so should not be to bad plusrnlots of out door activities. planned - maybe white water rafting! Wellrnmy dear buddies - to much sun today and very tired I will try to getrncaught up on all of your happenings.rnrn

Portion size?!

Hmm today as I was making lunch I was measuring & weighing my food.rnand while I was slicing the low fat cheese and putting it on the scale,rnsomething dawned on me! The cheese pack says “1 portion is 30 grams =rn90 calories” I always measure out 30 grams because thats what it saysrnSo as I slice and put the cheese on the scale I have 20 grams sliced.rnSo I am about to shave 10 more grams of cheese to = the 1 portion thenrnI look at the pile of 20 grams that is enough for my pita. Did the Cheese Police come and arrest me for not eatting a full serving of 30 gramsrnOf course not I saved 30 calories! Then on to the whole wheat pita. Didrnyou know you can have only have of it? Ya - I cut it in 1/2 and put thernother 1/2 in the fridge. That was another 75 cal savings! So all in all I saved 105 calories just by watching my portions on one meal rnToday is off to a great start! I didn’t weigh myself but will tomorrowrnonce all that McDonalds salt is out of my body. Water WaterrnWater……. I am drinking lots. I went to meet friend for coffee @ ourrnnice local bakery (walked there and back 5200 steps) I had a coffeernwith milk and No sugar. and instead of the incredible baking I had arnbran muffin. It was very branny. I could feel that fiber going throughrnmy arteries scrapping out all the Mcdonalds trans fats!Okrna little dramatic but it was good - then home to have my late lunch ofrn1/2 pita with 1c spinach & 20 grams cheese - placed on my Georgernforman grill for a few mins then added 3 med size poached eggs and somernsalsa! I am stuffed! Off for another walk to the local art gallery tornsee a local artists display.Then walk to a shoe store to look for somernshoes for Daughters grad. next Wed. I have to walk alot today as backrnto Calgary tomorrow to pick up my car! Ya the new one that works and pick up the cheque  for the other that didn’t. back in town

Well today went well good food - low cal - 2 walks =8250 steps BUT yesterday didn’t go well. It was a very stressful day.rnWe bought a car 3 months ago from a car lot VW Jetta and have onlyrndriven it a couple times - bad transmission - we returned it again tornthe lot (4th time) 3 hour drive each way and are now fighting rnwith them for a full refund. Trans went on the way home from buying it.rnSo to handle the stress we went to McDonalds!rnFor breakfast & late lunch did I chose a salad? NO I had a eggrnburger with hash browns and and orange juice - lunch  filet o fishrn- small cheese burger & a med fries - oh and a diet coke to wash itrndown. Well after that day of stress I don’t care.rnIt was just a day and I am not going to calculate the calories or transrnfats. When I got home I had a glass of fiber -( psyllium ) to helprnclean me out. We went to a real VW dealership and found a very good VWrnJetta 2002 - we will get that one and I hope to have it thisrnweek.  So I guess haveing a good food day and exercise today willrnhelp fix yesterdays boo booSorntomorrow is weigh in day! I was considering waiting till thurs but Irnwill decide tomorrow am. I will now catch up on you your journals as Irnmissed everyone yesterdayrnrn

8500 steps

Well yesterday I did not exercise @ allrnAll I did was stay in and detox on vegs. from my sugar binges from thernweek. So today out and about! Walk walk walk  8500 steps. I hadrnsome things to pick up down town so I took the long way there by thernlake. I even brought my camera to take some photos of all the beautifulrnflowers. With a mug of  in hand and back pack on off I went. While sipping and walking (my warm up) It came to meWhyrnwas I craving sugar last week? Well as I sipped on my coffee with milkrn- DA! All last week we were also making coffee @ home and using thosernflavored creamers. (Low fat) They are full of sugarSornfor days in a row I am having like 3 mugs of coffee every day withrnsugared cream. Talk about a sugar rush! Mystery solved. No more of thatrnyummy creamer for me. I am goingrnto look for some sugar free vanilla flavor (maybe reg vanilla? ) andrnmilk. So back home from the walk and time to filter wine and rack some.rnI finished it cleaned it up and then my chicken was done in the slowrncooker. In a pan I mixed 1 can spinach - 1 can mushrooms - 1 canrntomatoe paste - onion- garlic heated up an topped chicken breast withrnthe mixture. and fetta cheese on top. Happy fathers day! With a glassrnof wine of course.  I haverncounted all and I am doing fine - It was a good day and I am feelingrnfocused again. I will be in a car driving to city tomorrow so wil havernto keep an eye on my food intake. (I will take some cheese andrnsomething else along. ) Thanks to all of you buddies for pointing me inrnthe right direction during my weak week! rnrn

Detoxing

Well I am off the sugar today!I had to stop the self sabotaging. rnSo today I put on a pot of veg. tomatoes, zucchini, onions, mushrooms,rntomato sauce, peppers, Hot sauce & tofu. I have been munching on itrnall day and then I steamed up 300gr of edamame (soyabeans) in the shellrnand lightly salted them and sat & munched away. Irnam also sipping away on my green tea. It is 7:00 and I think I am outrnof the woods.The weather is better today and suposed to be clear ofrnrain tomorrow so I am going to go for walk tomorrow am. Hubby is out ofrntown so just me and 1 daughter home today. It is nice and quiet and Irnwill spend the evening seeing what all you have been up to. Thanks forrnall your support. It is great to see that we all have off days and thenrnmove forward… No looking back!rnrn

roller coasteride I need to go BACK IN TIME

Ok all confession time… Breakfast was good egg & cheese omeletternwith 1/2 ww english muffin with coffee (made by hubby) Then I went outrnto pick up a few groceries. icecream - carmel topping-(we always have it around for the girls)& the rest healthy stuff. WELL we always have icecream & toppings in our house. It is NEVER a problem with me.I don’t even like ice creamyes call me crazy but I am a Salty girl But today I scouped out 1 cup = 260cal /ice cream 2 tbsp carmal sauce = 200 cal / nuts = 100cal Ok I calculated all this crap as I dished it out Am I on Crack! Then I spooned it into my mouth yes I must be crazyI don’t even like sweets. I threw the last 3 tbsp away.Later in the day I was soooooo tired I know it was a sugar drop! I told my friend S that tonight and she was even shockedrnWhats wrong with me.? Is it that I am getting cocky with my selfrnbecause I have lost 13 lbs? My pants are getting quite baggy now? Am Irnsabatoging myself ? i think I have to go back in time read my journalsrnand get a fresh start! I am now in week 11 of my journey and I think Irnmight of hit the fork in the road! Do I take the path that willrncontinue on the road to success & health Or do I do a U turn? Irnknow the answer. So tomorrow Hubby is going on a road trip (bassrnplayer) and I am going on a healthy trip @ home. I have all the healthyrnfood @ home so no excuses. Have any one else gone so far (11 weeks) and then felt like turning back?

Thurs night.

No top 10 list tonight. .I didrnhowever do some exercise today. No walking but did some ab crunches andrnother crunches. I even did some while lying on the couch today watchingrnTV (multi tasking)(this is me exercising) It is still raining and cold today - It is going to clear up tomorrowsornI have a walk planned. I went out for breakfast this am - I am proud ofrnmy self. I had 2 poached eggs - dry rye toast. I passed on the bacon!rnLunch I took a 1/2 pita put 1/4 c of a bean mixture I made up (can ofrnrefr. beans - ricotta cheese- garlic-parsley ) filled with 1c spinach -rncheese 15 g - slice of tomatoe. Then I put the stuffed pita on myrnGeorge Forman Grill and heated it up - It was great! Hubby even lickedrnthe plate Dinner I steamedrnasparagus and put 1tbs lite cheese wiz mixed with 1/3c yogurt and arngrilled chicken breast. So all was good until…… I noticed aleftrnover bag of (healthy low fat) chips on the top shelf. 28 grams = 130rncals. so I had 2 servings even when I was eatting them I wasn’t realy enjoying themrnWhy was I eatting them? Bored. Bored. Lazy. So the rest are thrown out!rnI have lots of things that need to be done wish I had of done somethingrnrather than ate chips. SO I am going to type up a list of things to do.rndown to wash walls in upstairs bathroom so I have a back up plan tornkeep bordom from taking control of my eatting .well good night all - Tomorrow is Friday and then the weekendrnrn

Today was a wonderful day, I felt great - ate well and GOT MY YEAR END BOOKS DONE! rnAfter selling the business in Feb. I still has lots of paperwork. butrnend of May was our year end and well tonight I taped up the box and gotrnit ready for the accountants finishing touch. Emailed her my file. Irnthink I am 20 lbs lighter just after that!  I was also preparing some food today and looked around my kitchen and thought  I sure have some Favorite Kitchen things.  Yes I know you are thinking Wow what a deep thinker  but if Oprah & David Letterman can have favorites so can I so here they are:

rn#3  My microwave eggrncooker. Its a small plastic 2 - egg cooker for the microwave. (fromrnWalmart) Great for the quick am breakfast. I spray it with oil/ crackrnan egg (stir it to break yolk) and micro 2 eggs med size for 1 min 10rnsec. Pop them in a whole wheat english muffin (150 cal + 75 cal egg)rngreat low cal healthy breakfast for 2 for little $’s
rn#2  My toaster oven. (I don’t have a reg toaster) Quick and also doesn’t heat up the house.
rnBut The top item on my list is
rn#1  My waterrncooler….. It has both hot & cold water and instead of having tornbuy the water I have a water jug on top with a built in water filter.rnNothing better that cold filtered water.
