7 days on the road and I’m back!

I can’t say how much all of your support has helped me.You all were with me on my holiday (i printed out my buddy list and put it in my journal) Hope you enjoyed the trip  I did keep my written food journal… The liquid grapes however were not accurate rnbut only over consumed 2 nights out of 7. I sure found going low carbrnhelped. We had lots of barbque’s and spinach salads so it made it quiterneasy. My bin of food was also very helpful for lunches. I had funrnmaking meals with my sister as she is trying lower carbs also and doingrnwell with her new stainless steal hip replacement! i was amazed howrnactive she is for having surgery 6 weeks ago! i have no excuse not tornkeep active. We spent 2 days at a friends lake. We had a great dinnerrnand (liquid grapes )Also went for a great power walk (before the grapes)rnBut I have to say how proud I was of myself in the morning. She hadrnlean ham and was going to make french toast with syrup. I asked justrnfor eggs & ham no toast! It is amazing when you ask - most people don’t mind!rnI will get a great walk in tomorrow am as the part for hubbys car is inrnso we will drop it off and walk home. and walk back later to pick itrnup. I have to get right back on the exercise tomorrow or I know anotherrnday of now ex. will lead to another. Til tomorrow my special buddyrnfriendsrn

Early weigh in

Well thought I better weigh in a day early as I am leaveing very early tomorrow am.rnWell I stayed the same. still 200 but I guess this is ok as withrnholiday starting tomorrow hate to start it on a huge loss! So I guessrnmy goal this week is to stay the same for next weeks weigh in and notrnhave a gain. And a loss would be better. so far today I have walkedrn3500 steps. My big up hill walk home from the car repair place againrnI had a great lunch. Whole wheat Pita  with spinach/ salmonrnmixture of chopped red peppers, dill, cottage cheese, horseradish &rnseason. All stuffed in a pita with tomatoes. I am very full. but willrnwalk it of later to pick up the car. at least it is down hill now!willrncheck in later today before we leave.

weeds - ants & wine.

Well spent about 1 hour weeding that flower garden until Attacked by ants… I franticaly brushed them off my feet, legs and arms i think I burnt off @ least 200cal doing that! Then stripped down into the shower. Thenrnoff for a walk 2500 steps and stopped in to shop for a couple newrnshirts for our trip and bought some food for our trip. I have been onrnmy feet all day. as I  mixed up 4 batches of wine. I am packing arnfood box for me - with safe food for the trip. i picked up cans ofrntuna, chicken, salmon. spinach. whole wheat pita’s, vegetable &rnchicken broth, protein powder. has anyone ever tried protein powderrnmixed in diet coke? or diet gingerale? I have.rnI blend it up and it is kind of like a float or shake. Today am. wasrneggs & salsa,  Lunch was salmom pattie on 1/4 pita withrnmustard cheese & relish. mmmmmm  Dinner was herring in tomatornsauce with hot sauce. Evening snack was liquid fruit (red wine) I keptrnthe calories & carbs on track. I also called my sister today to letrnher know I am bringing some safe food with me & I hope she won’t bernoffended if I chose to eat different things. You know I was thinking….rnIf I had a health condition (like diebetic) and had to eat a certainrnway,…. no one would think twice about my menu - so I am thinking I dornhave a health condition - over weight! Not healthy @ all Even my doctorrnagrees.  My sister  was just fine with that! sometimes allrnyou have to do is let family & friends know about your plan inrnadvance and hopefully they will support you!rnrn

Have to have a back up plan

well I stayed up far to late last nigh.rnTrying to get year end books together. Still watching the carbs close.rnAm - 2poached eggs melba toast & salsa.  Lunch - leftoverrnstuffed salmon red pepper.with extra cottage cheese.  Snack -rnyougrart & salsa dip with raw mushrooms & red peppers. Dinner -rnGrilled lean pork chop with cooked spinach, mushroom & feta on thernside. & a diet coke. I have a few calories left for my Sunday nightrnDesp. House Wive. glass of wine (my fruit for the day I am trying to make a plan for the week.rnHubby & I are going back home (10 hour drive) to Saskatoon,rnSaskatchewan. We will be mainly staying @ my sisters so I think it willrnbe ok as she will support me in my food. I think I will bring alongrnsome can tuna & salmon, pitas, & canned spinach. for thosernemergency situations. She just had a hip replaced. 4 weeks ago. Only 48rnand a very active person. Black belt in Ty Kwon Do (sp?) So she will bernup for healthy eatting and will enjoy someone helping her.We have lotsrnof friends to visit and I am sure will be eatting with…SornI figure if I continue my very low carb this week it will help out. Ourrnfriends are all quite thin so I hope we will just enjoy each othersrncompany & not focus on the food. I think I will print off my last 2rnweeks of food logs to bring along so I can have menus to focus on. Irnhope to get some walking in but will be different as it is flatrnPrairie! Different from my normal hill walking. I think I will get myrnhusband to drop me of different places to make me walk to myrndestination. I will take the pedometer. Going out for a walk in 15 minsrn(after hubbies show is over) Have a great day tomorrowrnrn

stuffed peppers

Well still trying to keep clear of bad carbs today.  This afternoon I had a nap when I awoke I wanted something full of carbs. So I stayed in my room until I had a proper dinner plan.rnI visually went through what I had in the fridge & kitchen & =rnSteamed asparagus with yogurt & fat free cheese with garlic sauce.rnThen I cut a green & red pepper in 1/2 and put them on my GeorgernForman grill. I mixed a can of salmon (no skin or bones) mixed in 1/2 crnfat free cottage cheese. mustard, 1tbsp parm. cheese.and cayne pepper.rnThen I stuffed the grilled pepper with the salmon. It was great. (makesrndinner for 2) . So grounding myself in my bedroom until I could comernout with a health dinner plan seems to of worked. I think I will send myself to my room and do some exercise on my gazelle.rnrn

sushi wrap?

Well today I decided not to eat many carbs. (bad ones)rnSo lunch was home made veg soup. (I had a big batch and froze bags ofrnit). My husband wanted a sandwich so chopped up cucumber, onion, rntomoto, mushrooms, crab & lite feta -very fine like a salsa. I putrnlots of mixed lettuce on a wrap and topped it with the chopped veg.rnmixture. Then put a slice of fat free chicken cutlets. rolled it up inrna wrap and Lunch for hubby BUT for me I had some sushi wraps.rnI filled 2 wraps with the above mixture and rolled them up. like arnwrap. The sushi wraps are only 10 calories each and very healthy-rnbetter than a wrap @ 180 calories. I let the wrap sit rolled up forrnabout 15 mins to soften the sea weed wrap and cut them in half. It wasrndifferent but I felt like I wasrnhaving a real wrap!I am going to make it again tomorrow. I findrnsometimes it is all about the presentation.rnI also bought a couple new salad bowls for our indivual large salads wernhave for lunch. They are very colorful and makes our salad lunch morernfun!Ok I have officially lost it. I need to get out more. rnrn

Up hill battle - hamburger won!

Well after yesterdays marithon yard work. I couldn’t out side - I was stiffrnbut we had to have the airconditioner in hubbys car recharged so werndropped the car off and walked home 3600 steps. (1100 up hill)rnthe rest is quite flat. Then we went to pick it up and at least it wasrndown hill ! Another 3600 steps. (aprox 25 mins each way) Still a veryrnhot day. Breakfast - 1egg, whole wheat english muffin, fat free cheesernslice, coffee . Late lunch/dinner -  we drove to a coffee stop and I had a mushroom & onion burger with fries.i knew what I was doing when I ordered it but I have so been longing for some bad food.rnI did however leave 1/3 of the fries. Before I ate it I looked it overrnto evaluate my portions so I can calculate my daily calorie over loadrnI have asparagus in the fridge and will steam some up later if I amrnhungry. I hope to get on the gazelle machine tonight if I have somernenergy left after yesterday. Thanks for everyones support. I am now inrnweek 6 of logging food & exercising.  I haven’t gone @ it thisrnlong ever!rnrn

200 leg squats!

Ouch! 4 hours of yard work = 5 large leaf bags racked up from flower beds  1rnbag = 30 squats  5×30=150  +  trimmings trees (at leastrn50 squats) picking up branches. (trailer full) Raking = upper body workrnout & morning walk 2500 steps. Also it was 31 out (90’s) What doesrnthe grand total come to? ======== One tired  200 lb mama!rnYes I lost another lb. still not in the 190’s but you wait next week itrnwill come. We ate very good today Salads & a pita filled withrnsalad, fish, cottage cheese& finely chopped veg. Today again myrnhusband commented on how he is enjoying  eatting this way. I putrnsome leftover steak in his pita. Tomorrow more yard work as the housernwe moved into has been very neglected. You know today I put on a pairrnof yoga pants I had bought a while ago but didn’t wear much as theyrnwere so tight in the knee area.  Today when I thought I might asrnwell use them as yard pants. I pulled them up and they didn’t grab @rnthe knee? They hung and the flarernin the leg showed as a flared leg not tight? So I guess the last 2rnweeks has shown 1 lb per week, but I guess it is time to measure myselfrnand check my inches lost.Hope you all had a great day!rnrn
